Article from Tom Finchett (published in the August-September edition of the ‘Newsletter’)
The Swanbourne Estate now has full planning permission for Breakfast Field, and plans to commence work in October. All being well, the small development at Deverells Farm will commence at the same time, with a view to completion in spring / summer next year. All the Deverells Farm houses will be kept for rental. At Breakfast Field, current plans (which can change) are that the Estate will keep properties 1-5 and 8, and let these, with the remainder (all 2 and 3 bed semis) for sale. The properties will all be sold at open market prices, but the Estate intends to publish details locally to give those who live in, or have family living in Swanbourne, advance notice before the properties are advertised. More details to follow in due course.

Breakfast Field – Development News as at 23rd November, 2017 – The 7 new houses available for purchase
The Breakfast Field development is on its way, but somewhat delayed due to the need for more detailed archaeological investigations. The scheme has proved to be very popular amongst villagers and people with a ‘connection’ to the village and the 7 private sale houses are very oversubscribed but at least they are very likely to go to local people.
As I write we await the Chancellors announcement in the Budget which may help (just announced – First time buyers to be exempt from stamp duty for purchases up to £300,000). Prices are likely to be released and reservations accepted before Christmas. Detailed work to make sure the finished dwellings come with a good specification, provide choice for buyers and have individuality remain priorities. It’s a very exciting project and we all want it to fit in well to the village scene. The emphasis now is on detail including sensitive landscaping and the use of local materials.
